WORKOUTS FOR WHEN YOU'RE FEELING LAZY
Trust us, we get it- some days, you're just not feeling like hitting the gym for a sweat session. The good news is you really don't have to torture yourself in the gym for hours to get fit, especially if you are just starting out! Below are some ways to keep in shape when you are just not feeling up to a crazy-long workout:
STICK TO 20S
Hey, you have to start somewhere! Try to do just 20 push-ups and 20 crunches every day, even if they aren't all at once. Doing something is better than doing nothing, and after a while, when you feel yourself finding the sets of 20 too easy, you can up it at your own pace.
GET UP EVERY HOUR
Make a conscious effort to get up at least once an hour in your day- go to the toilet, make a pot of coffee, or even just go and say hello to a coworker down the hall from you. If you want a great way to stay accountable, invest in a Fitbit and it'll buzz at you every time it hits ten to the hour if it hasn't detected that you hit your step goal that you set within the app.
WALK IT OUT FOR 20 MINUTES EACH DAY
Let's face it, you waste at least 20 minutes just scrolling through Facebook each day! So turn that time into a little health boost by walking the beautiful Yoholo Micco Trail in downtown Eufaula or just strolling down your neighborhood on sunny days. If the weather's not so nice, you can always squeeze time in to simply walk around inside your house.
RUN FOR JUST A SONG
Pick your favorite high-tempo song and run until it ends. Pick a good song that's roughly 3.5 minutes long and you won't even care that you're running! The best part? Once that song is over, you'll have upped your heart rate and got some feel-good endorphins flowing both due to the exercise and the tune!
WORK OUT DURING COMMERCIALS
Commercials are a great time to squeeze in some mini workouts! Grab a set of dumbbells and do a few curls or lunge around the room until your show comes back on and you can relax again.
